Frequently Asked Questions

 FAQs

  • Every state is different, but here in South Carolina we have direct access laws. This allows patients to seek out treatment with a physical therapist without a referral for 30 days. After that, there are a few options. Contact us directly and I can explain how it works.

  • Absolutely. We see athletes of all levels including high school athletes. Here at Salerno Sports Therapy we frequently work with weekend warriors: active people that often find obstacles in common injuries or pain. We help these active folks stay active by helping them learn more about how to move better for their specific sport. We also work with more professional and competitive athletes taking part in local races or events.

  • It sometimes depends on your sport or the movement you are working on. The golf assessment has its very unique protocols. Read more about the TPI-certified golf assessment on our golf physical therapy page. If you're a runner, we look at your gait specifically but also address any other mobility or pain issues along with a full PT evaluation. When it comes to weightlifting assessments or physical therapy, we perform a full PT evaluation with an emphasis or focus on the demands of that specific lift. So, if you need help with the range of motion of your squat, for example, we’d take a look at what might be going on that’s preventing that through our full PT eval and then address those problems directly.
