Common questions from Shandon athletes

Get answers before you schedule your first session.

Do I need a doctor's referral to start PT in South Carolina?

No. You can book directly with us thanks to South Carolina's direct access laws. If you want to pursue out-of-network reimbursement and your plan requires a referral, we can guide you through that process after your evaluation.

How long do sessions run, and what's the typical frequency?

Each session is a full hour with your physical therapist. Most athletes start with one to two visits per week and taper down as strength and function improve. We'll customize the schedule to fit your training cycle and recovery needs.

Will starting PT mean I have to stop golfing, running, or lifting?

Not in most cases. We believe in training through rehab whenever it's safe and smart to do so. We'll modify your activity as needed to keep you progressing without flaring up symptoms, but our default is to keep you in the game.

Why is this more expensive than other physical therapy options near Shandon?

We operate outside insurance networks so we can give you an entire hour of focused, one-on-one care without the limitations of insurance-based PT. You're paying for expertise, individualized programming, and the kind of attention that leads to lasting results.

What should I bring or wear to my first visit?

Wear comfortable workout clothes—athletic shorts or leggings and a T-shirt are ideal. Golfers should be ready to talk about swing mechanics and limitations. Runners should bring current shoes. We may ask you to move through sport-specific patterns during your assessment.
